Ashwini Sahakari Rugnalaya and Sanshodhan Kendra Nyt. was established on February 23, 1983, by a group of dedicated doctors and social workers. It began as an OPD facility in a slum area with a team of 14 doctors and a small staff. Through relentless effort, visionary leadership, and selfless dedication, this humble initiative grew into a 305-bedded hospital within five years.
By March 1988, a new building was constructed in the heart of Solapur at CS No. 7101/1, Tank Plot, North Sadar Bazaar, on 83,196 sq. ft. of leased land from the Government of Maharashtra. It housed a 305-bed indoor facility with functional radiology and pathology departments.
Today, after nearly years of unwavering service, Ashwini Sahakari Rugnalaya has grown into a 305-bedded, multi-state cooperative hospital, recognized as one of the largest and most advanced in Solapur. It provides state-of-the-art medical care under a no-profit, no-loss model, ensuring affordable services for low-income groups while maintaining a margin for maintenance and expansion.
The hospital caters to over 25 million people across South-Western Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, serving as a tertiary referral center for districts like Osmanabad, Latur, Bijapur, Gulbarga, and Raichur. Situated along National Highway 9, Solapur is a growing industrial and textile hub, making Ashwini Rugnalaya a vital institution for the region's healthcare needs.
Guided by cooperative principles and driven by a mission to deliver affordable healthcare, Ashwini Sahakari Rugnalaya stands as a beacon of hope and excellence in the medical field.
